Family-1

May 2013

Dear Friends,

My commitment to change through service, advocacy, and community building leads me to officially announce my candidacy for Boston City Councilor for District 4.

My leadership style is to collaborate and develop partnerships that leverage opportunities and achieve results.  Through my public and civic experiences, I have built cohesion among diverse interest groups in an effort to set common goals and measurable outcomes.  The groups I have worked with continue with their core agendas but come together for common goals that affect the entire community. I intend to bring this work ethic to City Hall as your elected district councilor. I will represent all district residents with a strong voice that will strengthen both District 4 and the entire City of Boston.

It is an exciting time to be in Boston. The city’s future must be defined by our collective goals if we are to ensure the new administration meets the needs of District 4. As I discuss these issues with various stakeholders, I consistently hear about the need to work with all of the diverse groups of our district and develop a collective standard. As a senior manager, I believe in setting goals and anticipating outcomes in order to ensure accountability. With over 20 years’ experience as a public executive administrator and community organizer, I am uniquely qualified to represent our district.

I have and will continue to meet with the district’s residents, community groups, and leaders to talk about our future needs and set achievable standards. My preliminary conversations have resulted in the key elements of my campaign platform, which includes the following: consistent delivery of basic city services, public safety and the better quality of life it brings, housing and economic development, and improved schools and education standards for our children. I will use the city council office to ensure our residents and local leaders have the privilege to proactively participate in all efforts to improve our communities, District 4 and the City of Boston. I am the Proactive candidate who will deliver results!

I can’t do it alone, but with your help we can work to make Boston a better place to live.  I hope you can support our campaign by volunteering or making a donation using the links below or contact us at the link below.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Steven Godfrey
